BACKGROUND

The idea for the formation/creation of Innovid Asset Management Solutions originated in 2003, when a few major, independent role-players in the South African tracking & fleet management market started informal discussions on joining forces and experience in one company (experience dating as far back as 1989). These role-players included people from the hardware & software development, technical, financial, management and sales environments within the tracking & fleet management industry. It was obvious that by joining hands in one company, the combined knowledge and experience could give this company a major competitive advantage in the asset management market.

 
While these informal discussions continued, the individuals continued with the development of a unique, robust, reliable GSM hardware unit and accompanying user-friendly software. The Phoenix GSM unit and Tracksuite software was introduced to the market during the beginning of 2005, and was exceptionally well accepted. Not only was there huge interest in South Africa, but Innovid is currently exporting the Phoenix to Nigeria, Botswana, Mozambique and Indonesia.

In addition to the Phoenix GSM unit, Innovid is also a registered distributor of the Skygistics MT2000 satellite fleet management unit, which is the perfect fleet management solution for remote areas with little or no GSM coverage. The MT2000 was also integrated into the Tracksuite software program, enabling users to monitor GSM and satellite units on one software package. To ensure continues development and state of the art technology, Innovid also entered into a strategical partnerships with Intrinsic Software House and Computask Electronics (who develops and supply Innovid with additional add-ons like the HMIM and Vehicle Display Unit).
